@ Mweb136. I believe my son will commit to Clemson soon as he got into the honors college tonight. Yay! So my son had a 1490 SAT. When I called they made it sound like there was nothing more for … unless he had a high need . They said that they would know after they looked at the FASFA form (which to me meant that he was not getting anything else). How did you request the additional $2500 -is it a grant or something you need to apply for ? I swear you need a Masters degree to decifer the college applications and scholarships these days
Yes he did - he got into NC State for Engineering however he is so worried that he may switch to Computer Science and if he does - he would have preferred to have gone to UNC Chapel Hill or Clemson. Clemson’s Engineering and Computer Science programs take pretty much the same classes the first 1 1/2 yrs …so he could switch if he wanted to without losing any classes. Definitely cheaper at NC State - about $15,000 less than Clemson.
@Chris1229 my husband’s ginancial situation changed since filing the FAFSA. Thry told us we probably still would not get anything as they think he makes too much still, but we figured it is worth a try. We have to send in our taxes from this year showing the difference etc. in the meantime we keep filling out private scholarships as we probably have a better chance at that. LOL
Yes my daughter was admitted back in late December. We are in NC.
