SAT scores for international students

Hi,
I have a question regarding SAT scores for international students.
I am a math and science oriented person, which is why MIT is my dream school.
But, I can't seem to improve my reading section in the SATs.
This is embarassing but I have learned english for almost 10 years
I don't understand it....
I did really good in the Math section (I have 770 right now but I am hoping for a perfect score this november) and writing section but reading is too hard.....

How much does this affect an international student who learned english as a third language?

I would say that this is the only flaw in my application..........

How low is it?

You really need to post your scores for us to determine whether it’s too low.

A good rule of thumb is that if it starts with a 7, then you’re good to go!

If you’re not a native English speaker, you can also substitute the TOEFL for the SAT I.

i barely reach 600…

and about the TOFEL, I would rather not take it because it’s so expensive…

Check out the SAT prep section. 600 seems low for the MIT calibre schools so you need some work. Bottom line: practice makes perfect. I completed 50 sets of test before the actual one. My score jumped and met my target.

On a side note: how is the writing score?

I guess the best you can do is focus on improving your CR.

If your writing is not on par, it’s alright because I’m pretty sure MIT doesn’t take the writing section that seriously
