SAT Scores, GPA, Portfolio Good enough?

Hey all,
I am interested in Cornell's Arch. School....I would love your opinion based on these few criteria as to what my chances are of being accepted..
-4.2 GPA
-SAT I Math: 720 Critical Reading: 590 Writing: 680
-SAT II Math II: 670
-My portfolio will be average
-I work in an architectural firm already, and I am looking for ways to incorporate that into my portfolio or something because I think it is a very valid point....Should I try and make this fact known in the portfolio or interview??

All help/suggestions/comments appreciated...
Thanks!
Nathan

Any help/advice is appreciated....Thanks!

I don't know that anyone can tell you what SAT scores are required for Cornell's BArch program, I don't know if the score ranges are available by college. Those students who have been accepted to the program whose scores I have heard or seen have been pretty high, but I think a slam dunk portfolio and interview could overcome goodbutnotexceptional test scores.

What concerns me is your statement that "your portfolio will be average". If you take a look at Cornell's AAP admissions website, you will see that this is the most important factor in admissions, and they only accept 55 people from the world. So my suggestion would be that you do something to make your portfolio better than a self-evaluated "average". If you work in an arch firm, perhaps you can get some input from your mentors, or some assistance from your art teacher. When you interview there you will get feedback from the interviewer, but you'll need to have a number of good pieces to show him/her when you go up.

Good luck!

O great advice, Thanks...is the interview on campus??

590 CR is not going to be good enough for Cornell.

I know i am taking the SAT one more time to improve that one area...:) Thanks..

Get the PR list of SAT words and make flashcards for the ones you DO NOT know. Spend a month memorizing those--until you can whip through the deck with no hesitation.

Good luck.
