SAT scores: send or no?

So, I had some anxiety and tears at the SAT-- but I still made it out with a 1370.
Im taking the ACT now and referring my already submitted early applications to regular decision so I can have a better score.
Now, I already sent in my Yale application marked that I had taken this SAT. Since they know about the SAT, MUST I submit the SAT score? Id rather not…obviously. I am also taking SAT Subject Tests.
Perhaps since they are waiting for some kind of score and I will not be getting the ACT score until a later date, I should submit the SAT score with a note detailing my test struggle (i have aspergers) and notifying them that I am taking the ACT?

The question is moot until you get your ACT score. But you only need to send one or the other.

Since you moved your application to RD, at this point, they are ignoring your application, and will not look at it until they have made their SCEA decisions.

No. Send the official score report when you decide which one you plan to submit. Do not send an explanation.

Okay, I will wait and send ACT.
I did not personally move my EA to RD, I’m just assuming they will ,having not gotten my test scores.
Do i need to notify them that I need to be deferred?

I would or you risk them treating the application as incomplete and tossing it. Better to be safe than sorry.

For many schools there is a way to move the app from one plan to another (EA to RD) directly on the portal. If this is not an option on the Yale portal, definitely email admissions and let them know. Never assume.

Are you on a 504 plan? I know that my son who is also on the spectrum but very high functioning had his 504 follow him with his application and it was something that is considered as a part of his decision process. But he also did not apply to a high pressure school like Yale. In the end he did two years at a school in NYC but then came home and finished in a community college because he could not handle the anxiety while away. It might be something to consider. Although he had his 504 in place, once he decided it was too much for him it was over. He stopped going to classes and never sought mental health help. You may want to think about that. If taking the test alone was that much stress, how will you handle the large amount of testing at Yale? They don’t just have midterms once but pretty much on a weekly basis. Its will be very high pressure testing all the time and for each class you take. Will you be able to handle that?
