SAT Scores - what to do on college apps...

I have taken the SAT twice, the first time I wasn't happy with my score so I took it a second time. On the second time, I was under the impression that Score Choice allowed you to choose your subscores from each section, and thus I focused all my time and energy into the math and writing sections while basically sleeping through the reading sections. Unfortunately, I was sadly mistaken about score choice.

So here's the breakdown of my SAT scores:
1st: R - 750 M - 550 W - 550 Overall: 1850
2nd: R - 420 M - 670 W - 680 Overall: 1770 D:

Basically, I sucked pretty hardcore on both SATs, buuuuut my super score (2100) isn't completely terrible.

So as I begin the college application process, should I simply put in my best subscores on the Common App and hope that colleges don't look too closely at all my scores or if they do, hope the colleges at least appreciate my attempt to beat the system OR should I just not submit my SAT scores and only use my ACT score (which was a 30, though I'll be taking it again in the fall).

Please help, to use my SAT scores, or not to use my SAT scores: that is the question.

Some schools will require you to send all SAT’s and seeing that 420, 550, and 580 might hurt you. I think it will be safer to go the ACT route and build upon your good starting score of 30.

I wouldn’t send any of your SAT’s. No offense, but the low subscores will seriously detract from your superscored 2100.

No offense taken, thank you for your reply! Time to study up for the ACT, whoo!

I also don’t mean to offend you, but I seriously think your subscores red-flag cheating or working on other sections when your not supposed to. I don’t suspect you did, but it certainly seems plausible given the jump/drop in some of your scores (a 330 point drop is almost unheard of).

As @sa0209 suggested, focus on your ACT and don’t send any SAT scores in.
