Does UVA need an official score report or are the scores on the official high school transcript sufficient?

I'm sorry but I don't have the time right now to pull up the admissions instructions and go through it looking for an exact answer, but I bet the answer can be found there. Last year I sent my SAT scores in directly from the College Board to all the schools I applied to. It's was and still is my impression that top tier schools require this. Cover all you bases and contact the College board soon so you don't have any delays in your application.

thanks for the reply

"We strongly recommend that you complete all testing no later
an December 2007; if you cannot, we will accept scores from January
2008.
Have your scores sent directly to us by the testing services; our codes
are 5820 for the SAT and 4412 for the ACT. In the meantime, list the dates,
subjects, and scores for the tests you have taken or plan to take. "

I wasn't satisfied with my earlier answer, so I did look it up and I copied and pasted the answer above. I found all sorts of answers to questions when I downloaded the paper version of the application. I have pasted the link below: http://www.virginia.edu/undergradadmission/documents/2008Application.pdf

I applied last year, so it was sort of fuzzy. I also read in FAQ on the admissions site that UVA does not accept "rush" scores from the College Board. I speculate that they don't because the CB kind of charges an arm and a leg to do so, and I believe it's all electronic anyway (though could be wrong). Good luck in 2008!

"Scores come electronically (unless you rush them, which is actually slower, so we say we don't take them), so your record just gets updated each time new scores are sent."

Copied and pasted from a previous Dean J response. Good to know.
