If I had a 35 math/33 science on the ACT and I haven’t taken a full semester of calculus AB, is a 710 Math 2 score considered average/decent for UCI?
You have a very competitive ACT Math score and a SAT subject score of 700+ is also considered good. You should be fine.
So it would be ok to submit? @Gumbymom
.
UCI only recommends not requires SAT subject test scores so I would submit. They are going to weight your ACT Math score more than the Subject test score.
Ok thanks @Gumbymom
I do not have the admission data for 2018, but for 2017 the average SAT Math score for Pharmaceutical Science was 621 so with your ACT Math score of 35 and Subject test score of 710, you are very competitive.
Best of luck.
The math 2 and sat math scores have different test takers @Gumbymom
I am aware but overall your test scores look competitive.
Ok thank you
@Gumbymom If I took the sat, do i have to send all scores? What about Act scores?
You send all SAT or ACT scores. Both are not required. UC’s will use the highest score from a single sitting. For SAT subject tests, you can use score choice and only send the scores you want.
@Gumbymom If I took both tests, am I required to send the lower SAT scores to the college?
I would send the ACT scores and the SAT subject tests only. I would not send your SAT I scores. You are allowed to use score choice on the subject tests.
Thank you. Also, for the Educational Preparation Programs on the UC App, should I include ACT prep programs? @Gumbymom
Education Prep programs are like COSMOS, ATDP, EAOP, MESA, Upward Bound, Language Immersion programs. ACT prep programs would not meet that requirement.
Thank you @Gumbymom. I have one more question. If I moved high schools between my junior and senior year during the summer, do I follow the new school’s transcript for course names or the previous high school’s transcript for the UC app?
Is your former HS courses merged onto your new HS’s transcript?
Yes, they are included but are under different titles due to differences in curriculum and state.
If you will be just sending your current HS’s transcript, then use those descriptions.
