<p>Hey, I'm an international student applying to CMU. </p>
<p>I am in an IB Diploma program and will get my diploma on January.</p>
<p>The thing is, I haven't taken any Math SAT Subject tests, and just noticed that
nearly all departments at CMU require Math level 1 or 2.</p>
<p>I do have scores for two Subject Tests, they're just not math....</p>
<p>Would there be any way I could still apply with some chance, or do I get automatically sorted out if I don't have a Math Subject Test score?</p>
<p>I wouldn't say I'm an overqualified applicant in other areas, but my counselor told me that it's not a reach school for me.</p>
<p>Please let me know if there is any way I could override this requirement, or whether I would automatically be rejected without a consideration.</p>

<p>You’re allowed to take the subject test in January to the meet the requirement. So if you can take the test that day I would. However if you can’t CMU will still look at your application and your other math scores will be given consideration. You’ll probably be slightly penalized in the admissions process though. But if you’re well above in other areas like essays, ECs, and GPA, you still have a good chance of admission anyway.</p>

<p>I am still worried taking one in January may not be reviewed by the admissions committee. Is there anywhere on the website or an interview, maybe, where they said that January scores will still be considered? (My concern comes from the fact that January test date is twenty-something)</p>
<p>I originally thought the same thing as well since the scores won’t be received until well over a month past the deadline. However, according to the CMU common data set, “SAT subject tests are not required for Drama, Design, Art, or Music applicants. All other students/applicants must take appropriate tests, preferably by December, but no later than January.”
If you (or anyone else reading this) were wondering where to find this just google “CMU common data set” and you’ll find it.</p>
