**SAT Subject Test- US History- 2015-16**

how many questions can you get wrong for a 750?

@artandacademia It would depend on how many SAT subject tests your schools want. If they only want two, they’ll usually just look at your two highest ones. If they want three, like Georgetown, you should probably retake it and try for a better score.

I got a 710. Not too bad, but not great. I’m only a sophomore, but should I take advantage of those free four score reports to colleges?

I have 770 Math II and 740 USH as my two highest…should I retake either of these (I can’t take a science test because I’ve only taken Physics 1, and I haven’t taken AP Bio or AP Chem yet)? I am looking at ivies and I am pretty sure my subject test scores are too low.

@Yakisoba You’re fine. Subject tests don’t hold too much weight and your scores aren’t bad at all. The difference between ejection and acceptance won’t be your subject tests

@markj4994

2180 is my highest sitting (710 CR 800 M 670 W) but I do have a 2230 superscore (660 CR 780 M 720 W). I think I’m just going to send my 33 ACT (34 E 31 M 32 R 36 S)

@Yakisoba

You are fine.

Got a 750 on USH. Is this a good score? Looking to apply to USC, NYU, UF, and Y Miami.

@thefloridavegan UF doesn’t consider SAT II test for admissions, with the possible exception of home schooled students.

780 here, happy with the score but looking to go to school for business. Will the score matter?

Despite what many students on here on CC (incorrectly) think, one does not need to take an AP class to perform well on an SAT Subject Test.

I agree with @skieurope that one does not need to have completed AP science to take the science SAT, although it is worth researching how the Subject Test content and one’s science class content overlap. My son took Bio subject test after taking 9th grade Honors Bio (not AP) and only had to teach himself a few topics. He still had to teach himself a few topics to take the Physics subject test this year, even after taking Physics C. The content overlap will vary by high school.

@hjjlala

That’s great. I’m gonna try a 750+ in both sections and a 1500+.

If I start studying early July and take it October 1, do you think that is enough time for deep studying? Or should I wait for December and give myself more months?

could u give advice on this plan

-official practice test 1 (early July)
-complete entire SAT panda prep math book
-Erica meltzers books completed
-take the other three practice tests dispersed and hope score goes up a lot from first test after doing prep books
-do u have books or other advice?

Thank you.

@markj4994

I’m not sure about the new SAT since I didn’t take it, but if you’ve gotten a 1500+ on a practice test before, take the SAT. I always had the opinion that there wouldn’t be enough practice tests to achieve a high score, so I opted for the ACT. I personally would try the ACT first (August) then the SAT (September). Study for both, and if your ACT score is good enough, just cancel the September administration of the SAT.

I got a 750 for USH, just studying for the AP test and honestly I’m fine with it haha

@skieurope is correct. You don’t need an AP course to take subject tests. It can be easier to prepare for the subject tests if you take it at the same time you are finishing an AP class. My son took APUSH and AP Chem and had the AP exams and subject tests within a week of each other. Since he was already studying for the AP exams there was minimal extra studying. He spent time familiarizing himself with the format of the tests but he was already up to speed on the content.

I just wanted to say congrats to everyone who got the scores that they wanted.

@chelcischool I got the same score and did the same thing. No extra studying outside AP

@thefloridavegan

I just read through the Kaplan SAT book. No other prep. (+ APUSH)

I got an 800 just by studying for the AP and doing a few practice tests (the two official ones and the two PR ones).

now ill have to wait until July 22nd for the score…
