**SAT Subject Test- US History- 2015-16**

@MrAustere @mdorbust
I got a 720 with a score of a 4 on the AP last May and a one-week cram session with the Barron’s AP review book. The Barron’s book really has all the material tbh. I suggest study from that over a span of one month.

D16 got 750, but I expected 800, so the curve must have been very tough this time. Actually we should be happy that she got above 700 because she used only the Barron’s SAT book and crammed for the test for one week. She never took the AP US History (also no IB US History) and didn’t have time to review other books.

She also used the Barron’s Biology E book in October and got 800. She studied a bit more for that test, but felt that Barron’s books are very good for these tests. She also didn’t take AP Biology, but is taking IB Biology HL.

I got a 700, taking again in 9 days…

@aurthur I’m taking it again too. What are you doing to prepare this time around?

  1. How disgustingly dissapointing. I genuinely believed I was going to get a 700+. How utterly, utterly dissapointing. What a hellish drag.

@mdorbust Whichever book covers the concepts you’re worst on in the best way is what I’d recommend… it’s hard for me to answer your question because I found Kaplan helpful with basic but complete review, not to mention Sparknotes felt like good review also. You could go the AMSCO route as well, have you heard of that book? It’s an APUSH review book and I used it to get a good score on the AP test, and I think it helped me with this test also. I can understand getting a disappointing score a while after taking a course, and in your situation I would honestly say Kaplan is the best. Barron’s seemed just too much of a time-waster, telling me useless facts that took hours to read through.

@picknroll222 I mean I found Kaplan helpful as well, but I was so surprised to see my score. I honestly felt like I was very prepared with Kaplan but my score says otherwise haha. I don’t know what to do at this point; I’m testing again in late January. Would you recommened AMSCO or Barrons if I want to overprep?

@satwreckerZ2 That’s exactly what I got and my exact reaction. What did you prep with? Do you have plans as to what to do this next time around?

do you guys think, that for the December test, I can cram it in?
I took APUSH but that was like 6 months and I forgot A LOT…

How hard is it to get 600? I’m only taking it to get college credit.

will 5 days cover the material? I intend to use the amsco or kaplan. If anyone has a pdf, thatd be awesomee…

What was the first war with extensive TV coverage?

@mdorbust If you want to overcram and feel really confident about that test, Barron’s is definitely the way to go. AMSCO is in-depth but not to the extent that Barron’s is, not to mention the former is much harder to find and typically more expensive. I used Barron’s a bit and found the practice tests to be difficult, but once you get good scores on those you know there’s no way you get a bad score on the real deal (well, pretty much). Good luck!

@MrAustere That would be the Vietnam War, I believe.

@picknroll222 Thanks

What did you all think?

@MrAustere I thought it was so much easier than the October test (650) I at least got a 700+ if not I’ll be super mad

I thought the same. Too many quotes on this test. Any thing in specific?? @CCSenioritis

I skipped around 7 and most of them were quotes lol. I thought they were too broad . Wbu? I forgot most of the questions right as I left lol

Was Jimmy Carter the answer to one of them? @CCSenioritis

@MrAustere if it was I omitted it lol. What some other tough ones
