SAT Subject Tests: Still worth it?

Hello fellow CC users! I am a tad behind and am taking the SAT next year as a senior. (October test date) I am also considering taking a few SAT subject tests, due to the fact that some colleges require them. Now my question is: Would taking SAT Subject tests in November be a waste, or would I be able to put them on my application still?

Thanks a million.

If you apply ED you probably can’t, but if you apply RD then you certainly can! Most colleges say if you apply RD then have all testing done by JAN and send Nov scores immediately after you receive them(Although check with colleges to make sure they will still accept them by then). And if the colleges require them, then you HAVE to take them if you want to apply there, so go ahead and take them! Just make sure you give yourself enough time to sufficiently study for the tests. Good luck!

LoveEd is correct. November Subject matter SATs will be too late for ED, but fine for RD. Remember, they are still making decisions in Feb. and March.

Some schools will accept November scores for EA/ED. Check each school’s website or e-mail an admissions person to double-check.

Keep in mind subject tests don’t really help your application unless they are above 700.

You could try the ACT + Writing in September. At many schools, this test will meet the Subject Test requirements. You should get your results in time for the Early admission period.

Thanks for the responses, I will certainly look into this more. :)
