Since the regular SATs are not used for admissions this year, what about SAT subject tests? I know they are not required, but some campuses recommend it (specifically UCSD for biological science majors). I am applying as a human biology major/public health major to my UCs but I haven’t had the chance to take subject tests. I just took the November SAT then found out that UCs are test blind. Will it hurt my chances since I don’t have subject tests to show my skills? I still have the option to take it in december, but is it really worth it?
As stated they are recommended but not required. If possible I would try to take them to enhance your application but if it is a hardship, you will be in good company with other applicants that are unable to take them. It is not a make or break option for your admission review.
