Hey all, so I’ve taken the SAT twice. The first time I got a 1510 (800 CR/ 710 Math), and the second time I got a 1440 (720 CR/ 720 Math). I was trying to raise my math score with the second one, but I was stupid because I picked the December date to take it which is in the thick of finals for me, and I was out of it. But now, it is what it is, and I have a question. Should I even submit the second one? Yes, I know that colleges only view the highest section scores, but my overall score went down 70 points. The positive of submitting it would be that my math is up 10 points, and they hopefully won’t hold the 80 points drop in CR against me, so it’ll superscore to a 1520. The positive of not submitting would be that it is a single sitting score that is very good, and there’ll be no question about my ability in either reading or math as I got two good scores the first time I took it. The thing is, I know the math score is good, and everyone keeps telling me to stop worrying, but on my ACT and PSAT math I got perfect scores, for some reason the SAT math is eluding me and I must just be making careless mistakes. I’m applying to top schools and want to go into law/business.
My question is two-fold. First, should I submit both? And second, I have the option to retake in January, and things will be much less stressful for me then, should I retake then just to see if I get a better math score and a more acceptable reading score? Thank you!
How do you already have your December scores?
I thought they came out tomorrow.
Sorry, you’re right. I meant November. My school has a trimester schedule so finals are in November.
Ok. That makes sense.
Do you know what time of day are scores released?
And… I think you should send all of your scores since most colleges superscore anyway.
Thanks. Usually it’s like 8am I think
