Just out of curiosity, do any of you guys have any superstitions before/during/after taking the SATS or any other test? I have a lucky shirt and a lucky pencil. My pencil, although mechanical, is beat and worn out, but i still use it for practically every test. Anyone doing anything before these scores come in? Maybe this thread will distract us for a little while we wait.

I always kiss the clock at 11:11 a.m. while taking the SAT. Although silly, it has brought me some luck.

i say a prayer :)

Paradeus, kiss the clock? or a watch lol, explain..

I have quite a few. My clothes are laid out or planned out way in advance. I know my pencils. My main superstition is that I repeat the following quote to myself whenever I take one of these tests:

"Now! This is it! This is the time to choose! Die and be free of pain, or LIVE AND FIGHT YOUR SORROW!"

Kudos to anyone who knows where it's from.

prayer, the pencil i used for practice, my purse that fits my ti83, a bottle of crystal geyser, and home turf

blue ducky! i love your name! damn! seriously, i love ducks. i also have issues, if you haven't noticed.

During the 10th minute of every math section, I switch from degree mode on my calculator to radian mode and back.

Guarantees me 800 math.

lol. are these all true? they're awesome. a little luck can never hurt us.

I sleep on my lucky pillow. hence my name.

commonsense, that is the most awesome thing i have read. that's freakin hilarious, and, ironically, contradicts your username in every way.

rokurota, some guy called Auron from the movie final fantasy
(http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0284110/quotes)

i liked the quote :p

heh not quite the movie, but i've been to that site before. it's actually from final fantasy x, the video game. some of the best quotes i've ever heard come directly from video games..... sigh

FF quotes...ahhh it's been awhile... 'alright everyone, let's mosey'
or
'the dog eats strangers...'

on the night before the test....i always blow all my money on a hooker :(

hmmm...if only i still had to take it...and if i had some money...

I throw out all the pencils after the test.

throw out the pencils? damn...i keep mine - they're still useful... i did, however, lose my 'lucky' 35 ACT pencil, but i still have the 34 one! i use it to scratch behind my...ears.

I always leave at about 6:30 and drive to Starbucks to get a latte, a water, and sometimes a muffin or something. Then I drive to the test center, while listening to books on tape. I do homework or read while I wait for them to start registration, and then I try very hard to get a room that I've had a class in, and then take the desk of whoever the smartest kid in my class was when I had class in that room (not a very clear sentence....did you get what I meant?). Last time, I'd never had the room for a class, so I asked someone else to tell me who was in his Spanish class, and took the smartest kid's desk, as usual. I bring two calculators with me, even when I'm not taking a Math test, just in case, and a ton of pencils, which I don't sharpen until I get to the test center.

That superstitious enough for you?

lucky shirt.
