aw man, 3 wrong on math so far. WAit so does 5 work or not??? i didn’t think i had to add 5 to to the denominator

Sorry, it is overwhelming to sift through the thread - I skipped right to the last page, page 17. Wow, darn it, I put 1. Hopefully I didn’t get more than 2 mistakes on Math…would really like a perfect math score.

… So is it inclusive or not, ugh. Can someone just tell me if 6 is an acceptable answer for that one.

I’m pretty sure you don’t have to add it to the denominator, so 5 would work. That’s why i said 6, I wanted to be safe.

I’m pretty sure that the gasoline problem was inclusive. The question asked for it to be at least 1/8. I still put 6 to be safe, though.

6 / (40 + 6) = 6/46 = 0.13

1/8 = 0.125

0.125 < 0.13 < 0.2

Not inclusive.
But you got it right.

You don’t add it to the denominator? I thought it was ratio of oil to the entire solution as a whole after the oil is added (gas+oil)?

@OREngineering - it’s alright, I got here when there were only 4 pages so it was a lot easier for me to go through it all XD It should be 5-8 inclusive. The wording of the question (at least) implies those are included. And I’m almost positive that 6 is a possible answer.

ORENgineering, does 5 work…

does anybody know what the experimental section was for sure, or was it different for every test?

It’s not asking the oil to whole ratio, It’s asking oil to gasoline ratio, I don’t know why you are adding 6 to 40 in the denominator.

For the architecture/affecting our attitudes, what was the answer to the question that asked what humble meant in context?

@OREngineering - Btw, why do you always add it to the denominator? The question asked for oil to gasoline, not oil to the whole mixture. I did the same thing as you originally, but I changed it after rereading the question.

@RhythmMeleon
If it is the ratio of oil to the entire solution as a whole after the oil is added (gas+oil), then no 5 does not work.

If it is the ratio of oil to just the gas, then yes 5 does work.

Oh okay, my bad. Thought it was oil to entire solution.

Whew, at least my answer of 7 still works out…

yeah i thought it was oil to gasoline! But I’m still worried because that would maek the question easier than it “should” be

@tomatox, I put “optimistic” and “displayed”
