Ok, so I have gotten a 2260 at the end of Freshman year, out of pure luck in my opinion. I got 219 on the PSAT sophomore year. Now, I am entering Junior Year. You guys think I should take an SAT class at Elite this summer? The last day to sign up is in 4 days, so I need fast answers. Would it be beneficial to take the class so I could boost my SAT score up to 2300 and higher, and get a 230+++ on the PSAT? This class would be held twice a week on Saturday, for like 7 hours, and on Friday, for 3 hours of testing.

Why on earth would you want to retake a 2260?

no.

im sure you can gain 40 points if you really want to retake it. no need to pay the big bucks for it.

Classes just force you to study. You can save ~$1000 dollars by studying out of a prep book, and you'll do just as well (or even better). Worst case scenario: you take classes next summer (if you really want to and still can't reach a 2300) and retake the SATs beginning of senior year. Good luck!

dont pay but do some self studying for the PSAT... might as well get a national merit award as you are smart enough lol

Buy a book and study by yourself. You'll save money and get just as much done.

(But seriously, if I were you I'd leave the 2260 alone. Colleges will be like "omg a 2260 as a freshman")

Yes, go ahead and pay a trillion bucks for some classes. 2260 is so ****ing ugly that you HAVE to retake it in order to get into ANY college.
Good luck, man!
LOL
:-)

^ highhopes- I thought colleges didn't care when you took the SAT, they only wanted to see the score? I'm pretty sure of that.
liebenasuka- you are funny lol...and it's $960.

i dont think sat tutor can help u much, its better to study on ur own,and plus u're 2260, studying wont help much either haha.
how the heck did u get 2260 as a freshman -.-!!!

^ Lol yeah, way higher than expected. I think it's because I did super good on writing- missed only 2 questions, and got an 8 on the essay. (780).

wait, so you got a 700 in CR then?

Your profile shows 780M, 780CR, and 700W

"Ok, so I have gotten a 2260 at the end of Freshman year, out of pure luck in my opinion."

Get ready for the greatest inflation in history.

obviously since you are on CC you're motivated therefore you don't SAT prep classes to waste your money! personally, i believe that SAT classes are only there for parents who wish their children would study for the SAT's but don't...

i did elite for the weekends. total waste of money. they just drilled me with practice tests and forced me to memorize vocab. i could have done that at home. if you have the discipline, elite is unnecessary.

I did super good on writing

The irony of that post killed me :P Jkjk, 2260 is a great score. If you MUST retake, you're best off just taking practice tests. Learning new techniques would do little.

Just because one is on CC, doesn't make him/her motivated. Frankly, its quite the contrary with all these impressive stats.

yes tomackze, I did. 780, 780, 700. Ok..I will probably not join Elite then..based on people's overall opinions. I'll just study by myself. Colleges don't care how many times you take the SAT do they?

stanford1463, go thank your "stupid asian" parents. (Referring to standford's thread in the highschool forum.)

people can rant about their parents if they want too...

colleges wont know how many times you take it now because with the recent policy regarding sats, you just send your BEST score.
