Yeah that's why I had said "a view of life during the civil war" because i was thinking, "at first glance the interviews seemed sufficient to portraying how life really was" but your answer is probably more sensical.

i put that the sources were unique too... it was the FIRST AND LAST TIME.

that gave it away.

I agree with legendofmax, the first glance at first did seem to portray the life during the civil war to people and the author then contradicts this myth.

hey ppl. What did you put for the question about the women passage? Was it that she nearly achieved mystical status among the neighbors in Kenya or she had a genius for leading the community?

Yeah I think a false sense of comprehensiveness implies that you can sort of tell it's false. Like "hmm these look kinda fishy...". At first glance the author said they fulfill the need for knowing what life was like. BUT, when looking deeper into it... (I think this was possibly one of those level-5 trick questions. I really hope so anyhow :) )

I think the hardest part of the Myth passage was just reading it. It was written in a complex style.

achieved mystical status among the neighbors I think

That is what I said as well. It seemed to state that answer almost directly in the text itself.

yeah I really hope so.
What do you guys usually get on your practice tests for verbal?

For me I ranged from 780 to 800 (usually the lower end of 800 though)

legendofmax: Did you put a false sense of comprehensiveness for one of your choices?

No I said "total view of life during the civil war era" which to me seemed like what it was asking. What did those interviews initially seem to contain? Later, the author does contradict this, but meh.

Kings16: What is the question for that question again?

Legendofmax: That's what I usually get to, I really want an 800 this time. How many wrong do you think will be an 800 for this test?

This test seemed to be of moderate difficulty. I'd say minus 3 for an 800. Hopefully minus 4 but that's just me dreaming :P Usually minus four means it was a brutal test, but I don't think this would be considered brutal. The analogies were not over-the-top difficult and the SC was somewhat easy.

yeah the SC and analogies are easy but the readings are def more difficult.

Is this the first time you took it? I took it once last may. This was def harder.

Forever: I dont remember.

Ohhh now I remember the question. Yeah I put false comprehensiveness at first but then when I checked my answers, I found that was wrong because the question only refers to the first few lines (1st paragraph I believe) and not the entire passage. The passage does LATER imply that it is false comprehensiveness but in THESE LINES, it only says that it shows a view of life at civil war time.

LegendofMax, now that I think about it your answer is most likely correct because I don't think that the author mentioned anywhere in the passage that these interviews were not definitive of the slave expierence(false) but just poses what if questions about their nature. By the way, what did you get for the frog perspective question?

forever21: Exactly. With verbal you have to be careful of those things :P There was another one like that in the AI passage too, pertaining to the second passage (the first question asking about it).

thedude: For that one I said that AI's functions had not been fully implemented yet or something. I mighta had this one incorrect. I forget the other answers. It pretty much said "AI can play chess but it can't see in 3d and catch flies like a frog can", which, to me, means that AI has a long way to go and is incomplete. But i am not sure. what were the other answers?

Yup the what's true isn't always correct

yeah what where the other answers to that AI question?

I only know two of the answer choices. One was the the analytic component of the brain only represents part of its function and another was that perceptions are more difficult to incorporate into AI than logic. I the question had imply in it so I chose the former of the two answers because the latter seemed too explicit.
