SAT vs. ACT Scores

I got an 1820 the first time I took the SAT and a 29 the first time I took the ACT. I was very surprised when I got my test results because I didn't think I did very well on the ACT(I didn't study as much as I did for the SAT), but I thought I would do well on the SAT.
Have any of you found that your scores were somewhat different? When you retook the tests did you score higher on the same test or did it change? I'm retaking both test in the next month and I'm hoping to get a higher grade on the SAT(hopefully 2000+) and I'm hoping to get atleast a 31 on the ACT.

the ACT and SAT are different tests, so scores are generally different. for example, people who work well with logic and prefer to switch subjects after 15 minutes do better on the SAT, while those who can handle science, have a considerable amount of acquired knowledge, and have the attention span for 40-minute sections do better at the ACT. the main difference is that the SAT is a REASONING test--- what you can do with the time given--- and the ACT is a CURRICULUM-BASED test--- you either know it or you don't.

yeah my scores are completely dissimilar... i got a 1240 on the SAT (math and reading) and a 32 composite on the ACT... i've only taken each one once and i'm taking them again in october but i figure i'll just send my ACT scores everywhere!!
