SAT vs. ACT?

About what is the scale that is used to compare both? What if you did better on one than another, does the school disregard your score? I got a 2200 on the SAT (1460 composite) and a 34 on the ACT. I believe Penn will exclusively use my ACT, but am i wrong?

34 and 2200 is about the same.
I got those scores too (well.. 34 and 2210).

According to the University of California's conversion chart, 34 ACT = 2280-2330 SAT.

It is not usually easy to determine an equivalency. Equivalency tables generally found on the internet cannot be relied upon because colleges that use equivalency tables each determines its own. The UCs publish theirs but most colleges do not.

However, it is not really a matter of concern because, if you submit both scores, colleges generally use for admission that one which they believe is higher and do not consider the other.
