A high score on the SAT vs an equally high score on the ACT. Which do colleges like more?

It depends on the geographic location of the college. Midwestern colleges put more weight on the ACT, while coast schools put more weight on the SAT.

A lot of schools don't care, including many of the well-known colleges. I would check the college's website to see if they have a preference, but in all the schools I've looked at it didn't matter.

Most colleges don't express a strong preference any more, but if you have good, equal scores, why not send both? Since one is an achievement test and the other more oriented toward application and "reasoning" you show strength in two areas, similar to sending good SAT Reasoning + subject test scores.
