Should I retake the SAT (2120, 680M/740CR/690W) or take the math level 2? (I have taken level one and got 680) I'm an international Senior so I don't have the time or money for both.

Do you think you can retake SAT I’s without running the risk of going down in Math? The SATIIs are easier to take (only an hour), but If you got a 680 in Math II, it is only the 41st percentile, while it would be 67th for Math 1. I don’t know, but I THINK you should not take the Math II. My son retook Math I and raised his score by 50 points, which was a disappointment, because he thought he did much better, but still it was an improvement.

Getting 5 wrong on math II is an 800 while it’s 680 on math 1

Math I has a less generous curve, that’s true. But math 2 has harsher percentiles.

Yes, I’ve been scoring in the high 700’s on all my practice tests, math 2 is easier for me than math 1 is. I’m just not sure if a low subject test score is worse than a low SAT.

It is not worse.

So retaking the SAT1 is a better idea then. If it matters I’m applying for engineering

If you don’t mind me asking, where are you applying to?

Tufts, Cornell, JHU, RPI and Emory

Can you email the schools and ask the question? If you are applying to Canadian and US Ivies, you will need the subj tests. For all, you will need good SAT Is.
