SAT World History-International-June 2013

Still frustrated over a lot of the questions though.

I watched a whole documentary on the Shang oracle bones, and somehow I convinced myself to answer commercial purposes.

I also got the cathedral, wool production (flanders), Bhagavad Gita, Sikh and Afro Eurasian ones wrong, either because of erroneous analysis/having no idea at all.

was it ahimsa for the bhagavad gita one?

Didnt agriculture and some forms of husbandry arise independently? I can’t remember the question though. I think the areas were America, East Asia, and the mideast/Africa. It had something about spreading into east Asia, which didnt seem to make much sense considering that agriculture independently arose in India and China. While migrations spread it to Japan and Southeast Asia, it didnt seem like a good answer.

@DMAzai I forgot my answer, but I’m sure I didn’t put that it developed independently in America, China and the ME.

@hundyourdeath Definitely not Ahimsa, which has to do about non-violence. I forgot the specific term, but it was the one about doing your “role” in society because the dude arjuna was thinking about killing his relatives (I think) in a war and Krishna tells him to

Wait… Does that mean woolen cloth was Flanders?

And Arjuna was dharma, the same question is in the Barron’s book lol

Yup, just checked a while ago.

I put switzerland because I imagined sheep, green grassy mountains and shepherds, with images of the sound of music (which was in austria) flashing too. In hindsight its sounds pretty stupid. -__-

What is the answer to the Sikh question?

Did the question talk about patterns? Or did it specifically refer to domestication and agriculture? If so, none of the answers are that good, although the best ones are the spread of agri/domestication through migration to east Asia (true for domestication), or the independent rise of agriculture/domestication in America, Mideast, and China (true in agriculture, partially true in domestication)

I put Hinduism and Islam for the Sikh question.

The Sikh question was Islam and Hinduism, even though that was a horrible question. While Sikhism shares similarities, it is not a combination or a sect of the two, but its own unique religion.

Also, how big will the curve be on the test? The practice exams were much easier, and had a 75-78 raw score for an 800.

@damaan I put Buddhism and Islam, but debatable sources online say its Hinduism and Islam. I’m still not sure now.

@DMAzai ikr

I don’t think its proper when Sikhism really is something different on its own

I think it was more of a test of “can you identify the two main religions in India?”

If anyone else has any questions please ask!

I’m anxiously trying to count my errors and see if a 700 is still possible, so pointing out the difficult questions could help :(((

did alexander the great cause decadence of greek culture to spread to non-greek areas or did he spread the language/culture to eastern mediterranean? i said the decadence one because greece is already in the eastern mediterranean but i’m not sure.

whoops…just looked up the definition of decadence. i thought i meant something to do the word “decadent” and wealth…

so the answer for that hindu-prince-principal-of-fight-thingy is [Culture Club - Karma Chameleon - YouTube](<a href=“Culture Club - Karma Chameleon (Official Music Video) - YouTube”>Culture Club - Karma Chameleon (Official Music Video) - YouTube) ?

Haha gloogle. Made my day.

@Stanford2019, I’m not too sure, but I put that he spread language and culture to the eastern mediterranean, which I thought was the Palestine, Egypt, Asia Minor, etc.
