SAT World History-International-June 2013

did the ottoman janissaries use slave soldiers? and did anyone get the question about which two societies did the mongols conquer in the seventh century? i don’t think i read it wrong, but i was very confused because the mongols were in the 13th century.

What about the similarities between Toussaint L’Ouverture, Ben Franklin, and Bolivar? Education or enlightenment influences? I don’t think Ben Franklin had a formal education, even though he was certainly well-read.

i said enlightenment influences, @DMAzai

Sassanid and Byzantine for that one

@Cebolleta Nah :slight_smile: its Dharma, according to a previous poster

@Stanford, I think the Janissaries were “slaves” since they were taken from birth by force. I’m not sure about the which mongol question you’re referring to btw…

@DMAzai Its enlightenment. The education choice was referring to “Educated colonists” L’Ouverture was defo not a colonist, he was a slave, and I’m not sure if he’s educated in the first place

2 wrong + 7 omitted = 800 ?

How dare ETS put stuff like caesaropapismo on the test. Scandal -.-

soo was it afghanistan or iraq that opposed globalization?

@damaan what’d you put there?

i was pretty sure all three led independence movements

@stanford2019 legit that’s a rullll good question

@hundyordeath: is it correct to say that ben franklin led the american rev though? he was certainly an important influence but i don’t know if he necessarily led it

@ceboletta Here’s a curve

http://highschool.gardencity.k12.ny…ce%20Guide.pdf

look for the sat wh part, a 61 should be a 700+

and I’m listening to boy george thanks to you

Church question, anyone?

is the curve the same each year or do they scale it compared to how everyone else does like the AP test?

@stanford2019 ahh i see your point idk i feel eh about the question

@damaan: the picture of the church? i said tax collection for the national something…not sure.

Toussaint had a good education, believe it or not, even as a slave. And he was freed about 20 years before the revolution, so I was thinking about the ambiguity of the question.

Isn’t it because people travel there? Thus generating revenue for the community.

@Stanford I believe the curve is different for every test, but its set before you even take it.

And check the first page out for the Afghanistan/Iraq thing, I really think its the Afghans
