Do colleges value sat2 writing more than sat1 verbal?

780 writing
750 verbal

close enough

Verbal with lots of prep-700
Writing with no prep-730

Heh.

800 Writing
800 Verbal

(36 English [on 2nd try], 36 Reading)

Sorry about bragging (if it seems that way to you)... now, if only standardized tests were ONLY english-related subjects... then I would PWN! Anyway, for me, I didn't see much discrepancy, though Writing is a lot more nerve-racking I think. It's really hard to write a paper that's only a page and a half long, and rationalizing a grammar "No change" is harder than rationalizing the placement of a set of two vocab words.

660 Verbal prepped
670 Writing prep-less
Stupid english, grr.

tenniscraze:
At UCs, SAT IIs are given a greater emphasis. At many other schools, it's the same, or more emphasis is given to SAT I. Some privates accept only SAT I, like the University Chicago

iamhung, i haven't reported my SAT1 scores coz the verbal was terrible. I feel that SAT2 writing can make up for my bad verbal score; is it okay to send my scores just after sitting my sat2s in dec? (i haven't sent any scores)

I think that writing is easier than verbal. Verbal, to me at least, seems a lot more ambiguous with the Critical Reading than the whole grammar section of the writing test. Also, the curve on the writing test is way easier than that of the verbal. (Miss ~2 verbal or miss ~6MC and a 10 on the essay)

By the way:
Writing: 800
Verbal: 800

I think that writing test is a lot easier.

690V with immense preparation
720W with a little prep

I think the analogies on Verbal are the trickiest part.

740 Verbal
800 Writing

No prep for either.

780 Writing
750 Verbal

800verbal
760writing

800 on verbal, 5 on AP Lang, 620! on writing

wooo, high five elizabeth (for having the same scores as me)!!

670v 610w, 33 reading, 33english...are my ACT scores better and if so will colleges take those?

760 verbal
690 then 740 writing

couldnt manage that damn essay (mult choice subscores were 80 and 79)

790 Verbal
790 Writing
5 AP Lang.

It seems like you're comparing apples and oranges to me- one tests your vocabulary and your ability to comprehend meaning in writing; the other is about proper grammar and usage.

i couldnt help but notice all these high, high scores. where you all applying (dont laugh at my sn, im perfect on non verbal-related tests)

"if you have a 34 english, you'll so own the grammar part. Seriously."

Not true

33 english, 34 reading

720 verbal, 680 writing

630 verbal (no prep)
630 writing (no prep)

Does anyone want to tutor me? tips? That was last year; I retake on the 4th.

780 math 740 verbal 660 writing, no prep in verbal or math, heavy prep in writing... I dont see the joke.
