SAT Writing easier than SAT1Verbal

yeah, i agree with sonar.

33 english 36 reading

650 verbal 710 writing

i hope its true that SAT II writing's easier!
i'm taking it in a week - and my SAT verbal score was 800, so if that's true, i should be fine!

besides, i found that my practice test scores for SAT I were both lower than my real score by about 60 points. i've been getting 740s in my writing (though i always assume, to be safe, that my essay's graded as a 5 by both markers. in reality, i might get 6, since i'm a good writer. i just have to hold it together on Test Day.)

is ANYONE else taking the Literature SAT II? i have yet to find one other person who is.

ps. though i'm already taking three SAT IIs, should i take math IC in january? my third one this time's Biology M.

dont count on those fives, i thot i could, and i got two threes...

800 verbal, 800 writing. verbal came a lot easier to me (780 first take, 800 second), but i studied a writing book over the summer and got an 800 first shot writing. also you can get a lot more wrong in writing which is always a comfort :)

i'm taking literature!

i'm taking literature, too

My friend took literature and she said it was really cool--at least, the passages were all interesting and easy to read. She got a 740 or a 710 on it, I think.

I'm applying to all those big dumb colleges... dumb as in, I should probably apply to a few schools that aren't "Reach" schools. Heh.

no.
800 verbal
700 writing :(

the essay portion killed me.

verbal is so much harder cuz its easier to study for the writing test. 100 points higher in writing for me.

790 Verbal
660 Writing.

Retaking the latter tomorrow.

Writing is very easy if you read a lot, since you can largely just rely upon your ear for the grammatical stuff, even if you don't have much formal knowledge of grammar (which you should!). Verbal critical reading sections can be a bit tricky sometimes, since the questions are often kind of weird; but there's no interpretation involved in the Writing multiple choice. And the essay's not too bad: after all, we get enough practice at that in school that we shouldn't have much problem with it.

780 writing
750 verbal
5 on AP us (due to essays is my guess)

I am an international student...
560 Verbal from the first time I took it
660 Writing (first time too)

From my observation, writing is easier...

770 Verbal
650 Writing
34 English
36 Reading
5 on AP English Lang

Haha... the essay didn't go well for me for some reason. I retook and think I did a bunch better, so we'll see. :]

730 Writing
700 Verbal

Go Writing Yay

I think that the reason some people find writing harder, while others find verbal harder is the school districts. For example, in my school district I first learned about sentence diagrams in 10th grade, and that was the first time I truly learned about grammar. And now as a Junior, we don't cover it at all in class. I guess they assume we learned it earlier, but we did not. Other school districts stress it from a young age, and that allows it to stick in those people's minds.

640 Verbal
740 Writing

I think they're both hard lol.

Verbal - 670
Writing - 770

Writing is much much easier.

I find Writing much more difficult than Verbal. I've taken practice SATs and PSATs, and the Verbal/Critical Reading is always easier than the Writing. The problem is that grammar, at least at our school, is taught at very rudimentary levels until about grade 11. We learn a bit in grade 9, but nobody pays attention and even the teachers want to rush through it as quickly as possible. "Grammar" is about as popular as "Pop quiz".

But the good news for me is that it's always easier to learn grammar skills than to develop "reading comprehension".

i think they`re about the same difficulty level.. but not difficult at all if you either read a lot or you practice like crazyy

verbal, 730
writing, 750 (essay, 10)
ap eng lang/comp, 4 =[
