SAT Writing not considered???

My son scored an 800 in the writing section and just read a post saying that Notre Dame doesn't consider it. They don't consider it at all??? Is anyone sure? His other scores were 800 reading and 690 math.

I don't think they consider it for admissions decisions. See, the class of 2007 got stuck being the lab rats for the "new SAT". However, colleges don't know how to evaluate the information from the writing section yet, so they just don't use it at all in decisions. They use it to study trends, etc, for future reference.

If it means anything, I got a 690 M, 730 CR, and 800 W and got in EA.

they may not consider it...... but they can't blind themselves from seing it on the sheet... u know.

Even if they dont consider the score..... I believe it will still impress them

so does that mean my 500s in writing( i wouldnt give my exact score) worked against me? i doubted

It can't hurt, it looks good if it is a good score, but they don't know what it means yet hence they really don't use it. In the future, they may, but there just isn't enough data out yet.

no ......

i believe that it can only work in your advantage
