Does anyone know if Notre Dame is going to consider the Writing section of the SAT as much as the Critical Reading and Math sections? I have heard they count it like an SAT II, but am not entirely sure and was wondering how much having a high score helps. On the application it says SAT II scores will be considered, but again I really don't know what considered means. Thanks for any insight.

My younger sister visited last week and they said they don't know enough about what the score means to use it much, if at all. SAT verbal and math are much more important. However, I would guess that an unusually high or low score might be a tipping factor.

Officially, the writing is "not considered" in the admissions process, kind of like financial need. However, a good score will not hurt. I agree that it may be a tipping factor.
