Satii Chemistry Official Thread

What did you all think?

it was alright...a little easier than the practice tests

what did you use to practice?

10 real sat2s and sort of barron's

i got raped. again.

I thought it was easy. Much easier than what I had been studying for. AP chem.

Well, start posting questions. How many of the statements for 101-120 did you say correctly explained the statement? I had 2 that correctly explained the statement. Also, what did you guys say for the one that said that "copper dissolves in hot water because copper is a fairly reactive metal"? I said (F,F), but i think it may have been (T,F).

I put FF. But i had a lot of TTs

glass is SiO2 ?

freaking bullcrap. i put acid rain is caused by nh4no3. i was reasoning that it makes acid when dissolved in water. the answer is s03 i think though. what kinda crap is this that they put 5 "guess the compound" questions at the beginning of the test?! i think i got 780 at least though. i only had trouble with those 5.

i put:

si02 glass
nh4n03 fertilizer

copper (transition metal) does not react vigorously with water. alkaline metals do react with water however. that question was F/F i think

siO2 glass
Nh4No3 fertilizer
H2So3 acid rain
Cf3Cl - ozone destruction

YESS!@!!!! the only one i got wrong there is acid rain then. that crap

i think i need to take this test again, it was indeed hard

i'm a soph and i'm taking it in june. biggest mistake of my life. :[

Much harder than SAT2 95 practice test.

Which acids/base released the most energy?

And what was the answer to the crucible question (it was an EXCEPT question)? I put the metal dissapears.

What molecule is in least abundance in the air?

Wow, I went through the entire Sparknotes and I still did very bad. Even in AP Chem too... blah this sucks. I'm going to get like 650 : /

I got 1.0 M HCl released most energy (if we are talking about same problem)

For the crucible one... no clue. I put down that the copper would be heavier, but I'm pretty sure I'm wrong as it was complete guess with about 10 seconds remaining.

Molecule that is least abudent I put H2.

Does anybody know how they score the T/F/CE portion? Do you lose points for incorrect answers, and if so... how much? Is is all right or all wrong or do they count the first and second parts seperately?

They count the entire string as one. If you miss part I but get Part II and CE right, it is still wrong.

And those questions in te beginning sucked though. I omitted three of them, and from the looks of it, I missed the acid rain one. But there was a H2SO3? Blah, I put the stand alone SO2 or the SO3, can't remember which one was on there. :O
