SATS after senior year and acceptance from universities?

i gave my SATS(1820) in november 07:
CR-640
MATH-660
WRITING-520

i wanted to give them again after my 12th year in may08 and get a 2100+ score.

will a new good score benefit me if i want to:
1.)transfer after my freshman or sophomore year to a better university?
2.)getting into honors or getting any scholarship?

thanks

The answer for both is: sure, why not?

I don't think this will help you with honors or scholarship after your 12th year if you are starting your freshman year of college for year 13 as US students do, but if you think there is a good chance you will be transferring after your freshman year, it might be useful.

bring up my post!

1) Yes.
2) Eh...maybe

I'm (graduating senior) thinking about taking the SAT again as well to get a very high score and tutor kids.

according to USNEWS universities generally don't consider SAT scores of transfer students. is this true?

My son is taking the ACT again. He's interested in two medium-sized schools and has already been accepted. One admissions rep told him that if he can get one point higher, they could give him $2,000 more per year in scholarship money. The other admissions rep told him that one more point means they'd consider him for a more selective program. I was so surprised by their candor. It's worth another shot! Talk to your admissions reps and see what you stand to gain!

My daughter retook the ACT the June after she graduated high school solely to get a higher scholarship that was based on ACT scores. She already had a partial tuition waiver of a set dollar amount but by increasing her score 1 point it became a full tuition waiver which was great because it covers however many hours she takes (which is more than the set $ would have) plus it covers the annual tuition increases. The new scholarship also include $3000 cash a year.

So by retaking the ACT she increased her scholarships by @ $4000+ a year. She was aggravated with me for pushing her into doing it at the time but is happy she has the extra money. She is kicking herself for not prepping just a little more because one more point would have got her the top scholarship - @ another $2500 a year. Came back from the get together for the 'scholars' that got the awards and was like 'man i wish I'd got that one point more - it would have been $2500 a year more' - as if she had never heard that before (which she probably had not because she probably tuned me out when i was trying to make her see why I wanted her to retake the ACT again.

I think kids should be able to apply for large scholarships after the 1st semester of college - it was only once mine started college she really began to understand the finances.

thanks for the replies :)
