Ok, so I took the SAT for the third time in May and I did hideously:

720CR
730M (should be getting 800)
670W (ridiculous, usually get full marks for the MCs - 8 on the essay.. let down)

That makes a 2120..
I know I can get 800 for M, and possibly a 800 for W. CR is really as good as it is going to get for me though.

Does CMU accept score choice? If so, should I retake for a 4th time? Also, thats make 1450 CR + M (1490 Super-score).. so does it only look at CR+M?

Most colleges super score SAT up to three sittings. When you take the SAT more than that they start looking at each test separately.

What is your planned major? If you are applying CIT I can say that my S got accepted with essentially the same scores (higher M/lower CR).

Applying for Economics.
I may take it for a 4th time if the college utilizes score choice… so I can focus on Math and Writing only for the 4th time. What do you think?

thats what DS got in with in 2002.
Get good letters of recommendations, have some fun, be an all round guy.

Oh sorry. I thought those were the initials of some famous graduate of CMU.

I wouldn’t worry too much. I got in with a 510 on the SAT II Writing.

move on…these scores are fine-- slightly above average-- be done.

Focus on SATII as well and overall solid grades…especially in key classes…grades from senior year are looked at …these can be deal breakers.

Essays very important-- spend your time on those - especially the college supplemental one!

Enough saturday mornings wasted…do not bother to take this exam again…

You might even entertain yourself and take an ACT …and be surprised…

@7. I hope that he’s working on being famous.

Remember, its the simple things that gets you famous. Wither, Good or Bad.

Yes to what mom2012and2014 said. Try take the ACT if you have some time. It’s a much better test IMHO.

You’ve already put yourself through the torture that is the SAT three times. Please don’t take a fourth. I got into CMU with similar scores. Focus your time on the SAT II tests if you haven’t already.
