Saturday in the square/university day

thanks for the info soozievt! do you know if transfers can get invitations?

i also am curious, as a transfer, since we don't find out about our acceptance until after MAY 1st, apparently.

Unless something has changed, these events are only for freshman applicants.

damn
i hate being a transfer!!

I also would think these events do not include transfers due to the timing. NYU transfers tend to be notified of their admissions in May (my D has a good friend who transferred into Tisch last year and I recall that is when she learned of her acceptance) and so Saturday in the Square is an event for ADMITTED students, taking place after their notification of admissions (notified of acceptance April 1, event is about ten days later). Thus it doesn't fit the timing of transfer admissions.

I understand the frustration with being a transfer applicant, but all you transfers already went through freshmen admissions at another school where they held such events, etc. Now you are involved in a different sort of process.

Wishing you all good luck and hang in there. Go for your goals.

They should be coming very soon, shouldn't they? Probably by Wednesday of next week?

I can't take this much longer. Honestly. This sucks.

I think people have started receiving them. Fingers in the crossed position.

I got mine today! YAY!

Oops, sorry, I was accidentally logged in as my mom....

Well, I got mine today! :)

Hey they're out im a workstudy... and i've been getting a lot of calls about whether people are in or not. lol. This year they now say admitted students to the class of 2011 so no worries guys, you're all indeed in. Congrats!!!

good luck guys!

Are all the invitations out or will there be more coming. Does it really mean you may still be accepted even if you don't receive one. Does anyone have any ideas or information about this?

getting an invite IS an indication of admission. NOT receiving is NOT an indication for being denied.

i have yet to get one. one more week for me :(

Hey guys - hope this link works - if not just go to nyu.edu admissions page and read their statement on the Saturday invitations. Hope this helps

http://admissions.nyu.edu/info/index.php?page=eventsInfo

Hey once again liek I said I work in the student affairs office and here is what we have been instructed to tell people when they call up about saturday at the square.
If you get an invite:
You've been accepted, no questions, congratulations, expect your letter in April, you'll have it before you come to Saturday in the Square.
If you have not gotten one:
You can still be accepted don't fret just yet. Please don't shoot the messenger but the invites go out to the top of the admitted applicant pool, but not the entire applicant pool so no need to worry.

Also the invite doesn't mention this but the event ends at 1:30.

Hope this helped guys!!

thanks so much for the information, thatguyweknow.

I love your username lol.

I just got mine today for April 14. Holy crap, i'm spazzing out!!!! I've been a nervous wreck all week because i thought they all went out early this week. These message boards totally psyched me out!! So for you other kids out there who go the mailbox and cry everyday like i've been doing for the last two weeks, hope is not lost! GAH!!!!

Yay Lucie!

Good point...I have seen this happen time and again. People read of others hearing from certain schools on CC and think if they didn't get a letter yet themselves, it means something, but in many instances, it is just the mail!

Go celebrate!

So, from what I'm reading in this forum, the tisch invitations go out later than the other schools at nyu, and by not getting an invitation, that is not an indication of rejection. However, What I want to know is, how many students that are not at the top of this selected applicant pool will still be granted admission? I'm hoping someone who has experience with this from years past will help me out. I've been really stressing over this.

Also, does anyone know how much later the tisch invitations are mailed than the rest of the nyu schools?
