So tired of hearing parents complain that their child doesn’t get enough merit money, or financial aid, especially when they didn’t have the financial discipline to save for college.
We’re so impatient to get the vaccine so we can see our son, so it really fried me yesterday when a former co-worker pinged me to say that he and his wife (both under 65, retired, healthy) got the first shot last week by being less than honest with Walgreens. This pandemic is really highlighting where people’s ethical lines are drawn.
Dear VRBO-in-Hawaii owner: I offered you $10K for 2 months rent and you balked because you wouldn’t get any profit. Turns out I can see that you ended up with $0 rent for those two months because the whole time I’ve been sitting on my lanai in the unit next to yours (at a complex that is MAX 40% occupied) since the owners gratefully accepted my offer. Because, DUH, they understand supply and demand, and that 0 is a bigger number than -10,000.
Kudos to Publix for offering $125 gift card to employees who get the Covid vaccine!
Interesting timing of that filing… very interesting. The world will eventually know how much dirt was swept under that rug!
Guess they’re trying to make sure it can’t happen again. I hope it doesn’t work. If it does, that one step forward will become two steps back.
Elisabeth Ann… Awwwww!!!
If Stephen Curry doesn’t win MVP this season, I’m going to be sooo pissed
Dearest adult daughter - I will say this to you in person, once my tears of pride subside…watching you work as hard as you have over the last 9 weeks on a scholarship submission, has given me a glimpse into your sincerity and intensity into this advanced costume design program. That you would invest as much time and effort into something that deeply, is a true testament to your tenacity and fortitude. I realize this scholarship is for “all the marbles” and I just need you to know how incredibly proud I am of who you are, and I look forward to seeing where this takes you. On a personal level, I get to accept what my best friends who have known you from pre-birth say “you made her!”
Wow - Less than 40 days.
People here continue to have no real window into daily living and limitations that droves of low income/at risk people have on a daily basis.
From health care to transportation to literacy to food/shelter - and often more than one of these being a roadblock to tackle a task that we would see as “easy” or “doable”
You don’t understand why we spend more for Certified Humane eggs, grass fed beef/milk, or breads we really like vs what is cheaper. That’s ok. I have no plans to change since we can afford what we like.
I have no idea why you need to keep your large amounts of money in the bank at 92 while drinking (literal) week old coffee that’s been sitting around, buying the cheapest bread you can find, denying yourself grapes or various chicken cuts because prices are too high (at 1.49/lb and 0.69/lb respectively), and think 50 cents is too much to charge for a sweet treat you otherwise like.
You can’t understand our spending money recklessly and who cares about a chicken/cow anyway? I can’t understand why you saved so much for retirement and now won’t spend small amounts even on things you admit you like. At 92, you’ve reached retirement. Your kids wouldn’t even know the difference of a few bucks per week inheritance-wise.
You say your piece and point out your savings on everything/anything. I’m typing mine.
Why does CC seem focused on making their site harder and harder to use. I’m about ready to give up.
I can’t believe a professional like you, who knows our family, had the audacity to just ask the questions you did. I’m appalled.
Daft Punk… oh no!!!
I feel so helpless. She has never said before that she wishes she wasn’t alone in the city. I know she was upset at the time, but I am sure some part of her feels that way. I want this stupid pandemic to be over so she can see her freinds again.
You are such a piece of work. Now I understand what a narcissist is.
It fascinates me how convinced some can be that they know what’s going on in someone else’s home, in someone else’s situation. How about we all just realize that everyone’s life is complicated in ways we will never understand and grant a little grace?
Oh, no, Tiger!!!
