Okay, I am trying to be patient about waiting my turn for the vaccine, but a lot of people’s FB posts seem awfully, “Neener, neener,” to me. And, captioning the photo your vaccination card with, “Such a great feeling - I highly recommend!” doesn’t feel all that nice to me.
You can recommend all you want, but I am not yet eligible.
Party items bought and tasty rack of lamb dinner and drinks planned. Now we just wait about 17 more hours to see where med school lad is going for his residency. I feel like a child waiting for Christmas. (He does too…) There are 11 possibilities any of which he feels he’d be happy at.
Uh no. You don’t have the worst (HS subject) teacher in the world. In that class, one of mine had a teacher who continually made off the wall incoherent rants about the world while kids physically fought each other in class. After a few weeks, he was led out of class in handcuffs. Apparently, he was a drug addict. They never could find another teacher for the rest of the year and made do with subs who would regularly up and quit in the middle of class. I know it’s hard, but count your blessings.
Because of certain circumstances, I happen to know my widowed aunt is the only non-charity beneficiary in a local man’s Will. He had no family. She would have been two years older than him in school but as far as I know they wouldn’t have seen each other in decades. I’m curious about the reason for the bequest but no one knows that I know…
I play by the rules and expect, hope others do, too. I am very disappointed, even angry and hurt that people I know have gotten the vaccines in ways that definitely could be seen as “cutting” through the lines. One even texted saying, “I know others are waiting but I was encouraged to go ahead and get it anyhow so I did”. Really?!
I love seeing my boy so happy and on Cloud 9! It gives a mama (and papa) incredible joy. To think you told me of your dream back when you were 8 and I mentally put it right there with typical kid dreams of “firefighter” or “Super Hero.” Nope. Sometimes kid’s dreams really do come true.
Wow, San Diego Zoo - no more family or couples memberships? Every individual will need their own membership? Boo - will have to think hard when renewal time comes around.
I know there is a reason for self flushing toilets in public places, but when they flush as you are reaching for the toilet paper because you don’t have extra long arms, it is not appreciated! Now I have to reach again for the TP only to get my bottom sprayed again. Rinse and repeat. If I had a need for a bidet, I would prefer to use one in the privacy of my own home, not a public rest room.
NO, we won’t delete your post from 2012 just because you want to scrub your internet presence. Arguing with us will not help. You really should read Terms of Service when you sign up for a site, even though nobody does.
I played a sport at a D1 school and that year our team made it to the NCAA tournament, but the school said there was no money to send us. However, that year they found the money to send the cheerleaders overseas to cheer for the men at an invitational tournament.
Flash forward 40 years (!) and pictures showing the NCAA men’s and women’s weight rooms tell me things haven’t changed much.
its not easy being Asian-American. especially when a girl in the next town got beaten up in an elevator at a shopping plaza. our regional demographic is probably 50% asian or at least a third. this should not be happening in a place with so many asians.
