Saying you've done something before you do it

On the common app and especially the athletic supplement, is it OK to say that you've done something before you actually do it?

I've run my entire HS career, and I can say with great certainty that I will run indoor and outdoor track in 2008 unless, say, I break my leg or something. Should I just fill in the bubble saying I participated?

I don't think it would harm you. Eespecially for spring sports of your senior year

Not a good idea to act like you're doing something that you can't yet do. You could say that you plan to do it.

I checked off the 12th grade bubbles for the sports/ECs I was committed to.

I left the 12th grade field blank and just made a note in the Additional Information section that I plan to participate later in senior year.

No idea how filling in those bubbles early is usually interpreted, though.

It's fine - they know that the 12th grade check is "anticipated".

Are you already training? If yes then you are participating even though you are not competing.
