Plannin on going to sbcc next year and then transferring to UCSB after a year (I have a butt load of credits from IB and stuff.
I was wondering how into the ucsb social life sbcc kids are. Dont want to transfer feeling like I missed a year, you know?
Im sure you guys have friends at sbcc or that transferred from there, so...hit me with some knowledge

I will say that you need to find housing asap… I’ve been searching for a couple weeks now and either the rooms are too expensive $600+ (for a double in IV) or they are all looking for a female but I think I’ve found a place and I’m going to sign the lease next week if everything goes well.

Yoo, im planning on doing the same thing and transferring after a year to UCSB, the only thing i don’t wanna have a community college experience, i wanna college experience so i’m hoping that sbcc has close ties with UCSB in the social sensee. aha But das cool bro, we should hit eachother up if we end up going through with it and try to immerse ourselves into the UCSB social life

well there are a lot of SBCC people living in IV so they still party with UCSB people,

hey im transferring to sbcc next semester and am still taking in housing options so if you guys are having trouble finding housing/roomates let me know. I’ve been struggling with whether to stay at chico state or go to sbcc so I have been lagging on the housing situation.

im looking for a room right now. the only place with a lot of openings i’ve found so far is dp. a little on the pricey side, but i’m willing to wing it this year.

^ you’re not gonna be able to sleep on the weekends how much is it a month if you dont mind ? I found a place on sabado which is a block from DP it’s $500 a month for a double which is pretty good for IV but the rooms are tiny…

700-800 i’m coming in from oos so it’s been pretty tough finding openings. i’ll probably be one of the only freshmen oceanside haha

damn have you checked out craigslist ? right now is a good time to check since graduation is coming up soon. btw, how many people are in that house ? seems like theres at least 8 people to a house on DP…

yeah that’s one of the places i’ve been looking. all dp houses are 8 all the way up to 14. i’m cool with staying with a lot of people to meet new faces. not sure if i should wait it out and see if some things open up in the next few weeks though.

have you visited at night ? I hear it gets crazy on the weekends… i’m worried about the noise and i’m on the next block -.- well, I guess if you have the money it would be an experience :D

sbcc students and ucsb cant really dorm together huh? lol
