@sbuadmissions - Trending?

Hi, i'm new to the board.

Does your college look at trending for admissions? i am currently a senior, my cumulative gpa (/100) is an 84.8, but the last average i had was a 93uw because my grades have been increasing gradually since freshman year.
also, my sat is 1710 660M 510R 540W,
e.c.-student organization and leader-core program.

what are my chances of getting accepted to sbu and does your admissions office look at the trending throughout high school? i messed up freshman year, but now i'm up to speed :d

p.s. another question about early action- are we supposed to submit the suny application by nov. 15 completed with letters and solar supp. completed? or send the suny app. by nov. 15 and then complete it by dec. 1?
**if it is supposed to be completed by nov. 15, is there any way to take oneself out of the early action program?

thanks in advance :D

Hey Mark, welcome.

Yes, an upward trend will help you. Sometimes, in those types of situations, we'll wait for your senior midyear grades -- in which case we'll automatically bump you out of the early action pool, so don't worry about it.

On your PS - Yes, it was SUNY App by 11/15, then complete by 12/15. So you still have time to put the pieces together. Any EA application processed after 11/15 is typically automatically bumped to regular decision.

Good luck!

Chris

Ok thanks!

Also,
1 Is the 12/15 deadline to finish the application the same for all SUNYs? Or does it depend on the school?
2 If you want to check our mid-year grades, will we need to send in our transcripts a second time?

1) No, it depends on the school.
2) Some schools re-send the entire thing with updated grades; some schools just send the senior year grades. Doesn't matter to us.
