SCA international applicant

Hi, I'm an international student and I've applied to SCA. Right now, my status on Usconnect says:
Undergraduate Application (Part II, Fall 2011)
We have received your application, and it appears we require no additional information at this time. We will be reviewing applications through the month of March, and we expect to be able to meet our commitment to notify freshmen by April 1st.......etc.

I submitted my application before Dec.1st not only because the deadline for film production applicants was set like that, but also because I wanted to apply for scholarship. Either way, I had to submit by Dec.1st. By the looks of it, a lot of people have already got interviews and acceptances, but I've not received any emails notifying me of any packages or interview dates. Does this mean I've already lost my chances of getting any scholarship?

Thanks! This is my first post in CC and I was just really curious and worried so I had to post this here. :)

Hey JaywhySze, I’m in the exact same situation as you. I applied before Dec 1st for Film and TV Production and also for scholarships and I haven’t heard anything yet. I am also an international applicant. Maybe they are notifying American students first. I’m really worried too, but it’s nice to know someone else is in the same situation as me! I guess we just have to be patient :)

:O aww haha yea it’s nice to know that too. haha Let me know if you hear anything. Wishing both of us luck!

Thanks JaywhySze! Same for you too  GOOD LUCK.

I got a mail on Valentines day notifying me that I haven’t made it to the Trustee and Presidential scholarships, but that I’m still being considered for other scholarships. It also says they’ll have more news for us about our application in late-March/early April. Did you get a mail too?

That’s too bad JaywhySze :frowning: Nope I haven’t received any mail. I’m a little worried that they’ve been sending mail to my permanent address (which is in China, where the postal service is VERY unreliable if you don’t write the address in Chinese) instead of my current mailing address in England. But they shouldn’t do that because I specifically wrote on my profile that my mailing address was not in China, it was in England. :S I’ll try not to worry…

Good morning,
SC had 38,000 applications this winter, a record. Please send them an e-mail right away using formal English informing them you are now located in England. Write exactly as you did here.

A. Mail in China is unreliable
B. You are now located in England
C. Give them your address in detail in the UK
D. Thank them for considering your application

Imagine the stacks of folders for 38,000 individuals. Add to that over 10,000+ applicants for transfer admission! Follow up the e-mail with a formal note on quality stationery about your change of address…just in case.

Who knows how many pieces of mail for you are sitting in some Chinese post office? Do this now! Write the e-mail. Wait a bit to send. Go back to e-mail and check for spelling and usage errors. If your e-mail system has a component that informs you if a message has been received, use that option.

'Hope this helps…
Georgia Girl

Sorry to change the subject, but I have I doubt I hope you can answer.

Do merit scholarships for international students award you with aid for 4 years, or just one?

Thanks and good luck!

4 years…

make SURE you include your USC application ID # in any email correspondence.

ok thanks!
