SCAD scholarship

Hi! i am an international student and i have applied at SCAD for an MFA .
I have got 42K scholarship (21K each year). I wonder if this amount i have received is a lot for SCAD or not.

Tuition is$38475 per year. you have a 17K balance on tuition alone. You must then add fees, housing, medical, food and other incidentals. Can you pay for everything else?

Is this and affordable option for you?

The award is only a good one if you can pay the balance of the tuition, fees, and all living expenses…so figure the costs to be well over $50,000 a year total. Where is the balance of your money to attend this school coming from?

I will get a loan for sure:) I wanted to know if someone that previously attended SCAD got more scholarship…just to know if it is a good amount or not…cuz the admission dept told me that I shall be very proud cuz it’s rare this amount ( but ofc they told me this just cuz I am gonna pay ). I wanted to apply also for the new school but the admission dept told me that they don’t give more than 25% off the tuition fees.

As long as you can get a loan from your country or you have a U.S. citizen who is a co-signer and you can cover your expenses to get your visa then you are good? Are you able to secure $100,000 in loans?
The issue is not whether we think it i s a good package, but if it is a good package for you.

I think that is quite a lot for SCAD, but as others have said it is only helpful if you can pay the difference.

Also, domestic students might be offered other types of aid you cannot receive, like jobs (teacher’s assistants, resident assistant, work study).

You’re going to have at least $40-50k of debt when you graduate. Will a job in your field support that debt?

Where are you getting your loan?
