plz help please

It’s very hard for people here to compare/contrast two programs unless they have direct experience and exposure to both of them - which isn’t likely.

I can only tell you that SCAD’s undergraduate program is heavily sponsored and gets high marks for their fashion design program. The school sinks a lot of money into it to make it as high-profile as possible.

If you like both programs, the best thing to do is to visit both colleges and select the one where you feel most comfortable.

While it is important to get feedback on which program seems to offer what you want, don’t lose sight of the fact that one is a large university with a lot to offer outside of art (in case you change your mind, you want a broader education, you like to be around non-artists) while SCAD is an art and design school and really, any requirements for liberal arts, are just a concession to parents. If you have any doubts about your long term goals/interests VCU may be the place to be rather than SCAD. Also, there is the money issue–VCU is just plain cheap compared to any private art/design school. I know you know this, but its surprising how this gets pushed so far to the back of your mind when you compare resources/teachers/prestige that you forget to look at the whole picture. That said…you really need input from people in the industry about what the advantages are…try googling to find recent grads from each one and don’t be shy about sending an email or friending on facebook to get info.
