Scared of early DECISION!

I like UPenn (Wharton,) but the idea of DECISION freaks me out!!! On the other hand, I’m afraid that if I don’t apply ED, I will lose my chances of getting in. Thoughts?? Stats on early acceptances versus regular? Does anyone know people that got into Wharton on regular?

Same here. I feel like I can do even better this semester (As far as grades) and I'm confused whether I should just apply now or just wait until my grades are finished for the semester.

same here!! upenn is my first choice but i'm anxious about ED. and if i've any chance at the college, it's only if i apply ED.

points to self

Apply the way that best fits your situation though. Thats mostly why I did RD.

same here, ED is the only way that i could possibly get in, I think. What's the worst that could happen, when UPENN is #1 on my list? I'll either be accepted, deffered, or rejected. NOthing more, nothing less....I'm just relaxing and going ED.

^ what's worse? harvard accepts joo

getting into harvard is not exactly worse, it depends on the person and his or her preference

True, that may well be worst for some. Not for me though.

are all you guys applying to Wharton?

If your mentality is: "If I don't ED to the school, I won't get in" then that's the wrong way to go about things. Colleges don't "lower" their expectations in ED, they have the same GPA/SAT expectations and the only difference is that you're competing against fewer applicants.

BUT Penn does like Early Decision applicants.

ok. here is my new question then. is the consensus that it is easier or about the same difficulty to get into (wharton) ED?

easier ED for most people

Thought so too...however, EVERYONE from our high school who went ED got rejected and EVERYONE who went RD got accepted!!! Weird and can't explain it, but put a monkey wrench in the plan.

All of the people I know who got into PENN all applied Regular Decision. I know that SAT is not the main reason people get into college, but they got, 1550, 1410, and 1490.

Nope, I'm applying to the college.

I'm applying to the college.

im applying to the school of engineering

SEAS here too

Just a quick question: I know I've seen another thread on the forums that asked for opinions on the difficulty of each undergrad school (in terms of admission), and the general consensus seemed to be something like the following:

Wharton

SEAS

College

Nursing

Wharton is clearly the most difficult, but SEAS have been known to have a higher acceptance rate. Is this due to the higher "averages" thus not as many people apply? For example, SEAS would probably have those with higher math scores and perhaps overall better scores. Sorry if I butchered the list, but any opinions would be greatly appreciated!

College's acceptance rate is somewhere around 17-19%. SEAS is somewhere around 30-40%.

Thus, the order is

Wharton

College
3 or 4 SEAS & Nursing
