Scared people will accuse me of cheating

So today we had a substitute who didn’t pay any attention to the class during a unit test in APUSH. After school ended, our actual teacher notified everyone that the entire class will retake a different test next time because he received reports of cheating (I don’t know from who). He also told us that cheaters need to either turn themselves in or else he’ll find them.

Obviously I shouldn’t be worried because I’m not a cheater, but I usually make pretty high grades in that class, and lots of people get jealous and angry because I supposedly “don’t have to try” and I get a good grade (which isn’t true). Because a lot of the class doesn’t like me (and some people really oppose me), I’m worried people might tell our teacher that I cheated.

If it so happens that I get framed, what can I do?

“Obviously I shouldn’t be worried because I’m not a cheater…”

I’d go with that until circumstances dictate otherwise.

I don’t think he would think you were a cheater, seeing as you normally get high grades.

I think your teacher would be a lot more concerned if you suddenly received a high score on a unit test, especially if you didn’t do well through the entire unit. However, you say that you typically do really well in that class. I wouldn’t worry about anything if I were you. Your high grades that you always receive in class act as your proof that you didn’t cheat. Your teacher would be more than likely to side with you compared to a student who constantly does poorly on every assignment.

Someone would frame you? That seems like a stretch.

I don’t think anyone will frame you.
