Wow-definitely very scary! Do you have any acceptances anywhere? So sorry!
What was your UC GPA? We know a kid from last year with similar stats who was flat out rejected at all of those same UC’s plus UCSC. We were shocked as we knew kids with lower stats who were accepted at least at one. The only thing we could think of is that maybe he filled out his UC app incorrectly- our HS was on a block schedule so it was a little confusing.

It’s not very scary, but…

Rejected: University of Chicago EA

@takeitallin My UCGPA is 4.0. I got accepted by the other UCs, so I am not too worried.

Waitlisted at Purdue with 30 ACT and 3.7 unweighted.

@mikemike18, I have a 4.0 UW, 2260 SAT, 780 Math II/ 800 Lit, lots of extracurriculars, got into Berkeley and was waitlisted at places like Cornell and Harvey Mudd, but was rejected from MIT, Stanford, and USC. Good luck with the appeal XD

I know this looks a bit sad, but I just applied to a lot of schools. That, and while my stats are fine, I acknowledge that they’re low for this sort of environment.

UWGPA: 3.3 (I know, awful)
WGPA: 4.2

For reference, I will have taken every AP offered in my school with the exception of Calculus – Psychology and Statistics were taken online, as they were not offered.

EC: 325+ hours of community service, multiple leadership positions.

Rejected: Harvard, Princeton, UPenn, Berkeley, MIT
Waitlisted: Yale, Columbia, Caltech, Dartmouth

waitlisted at UCD with that GPA and SAT? You’re scaring me

Did you mess up on the applications or something?

I don’t think I messed up on the applications. Maybe my 4.0 UCGPA is too low.

When did you start working on the essays? How seriously did you take the prompts?

‘maybe my 4.0 is too low’
I know you applied to highly selective schools and all, but lmao this site.

4.0 doesn’t mean perfect unless it’s on a 4.0 scale.

Even so, I know that over half of the students I know, some going to good schools, would kill for a 4.0 even on a weighted 5.0 scale. Then again, I do come from a district that’s known to be – well, not the brightest around.

@Masterball, according to Naviance, I had a 50% chance of getting into UCD. That means that 50% of students at my school with similar stats to mine get rejected/waitlisted by UCD.

Your rejection story isn’t really that scary… You had only 2 APs and no extracurriculars

@JimtheBoy‌
One line below the 2 APs, I said that I took IB classes. [-(

To everyone else
I have plenty of extracurriculars, but I chose not to list them. I am not asking you to chance me, so there is no reason for you to know what my extracurriculars are.

Ahhhh so THIS is why you think all my schools are reaches haha
