and that guy only got 600 on physics, a score below than average!!

I saw another guy admitted to Brown with a 1790 SAT http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/brown-university/1046714-official-brown-university-ed-results-class-2015-a-7.html

Guys it’s out of our hands now. Let’s try not to let it get to our heads.
I think I’ll get up at 4am to revise for my chem test for 2 hours before it comes out…

Of course there is going to be at least ONE person who gets accepted to Yale with low SAT scores (even below 1800 or 1700). But such case is rare, and it wouldn’t be very smart to depend on such anomalies. (especially if you are asian or sth like that)

It’s pretty much common sense. Look at Yale’s media SAT scores. Even with URM’s, atheletic recruits and whatnot, it is still very high. It’s easy to figure out that for unhooked applicants, standardized scores have to be quite high.

2080-2370 SAT(25/75 percentile)

Not so intimidating

Absolutely. I’m not denying that high SAT scores are, in most cases, a necessity for admission. It’s just not constructive or helpful to derisively ask applicants with genuine interest in Yale if they’re “serious”, and then to discourage them hours before the decision comes out. If you’re right, they’ll find out soon enough themselves…

You don’t just add up the 25/75th percentiles for each section. Each applicant has a different distribution of scores for each section.

And I mentioned the “hooked” applicants didn’t I?

To everisen:
You are also from China.
Do you know why does CUUS malfunction?

^ Sorry NETKING, I’m actually a US citizen. I’m just currently living in Beijing. I don’t actually know anything about CUUS.
