SCEA Countdown Thread

This thread shouldn't be as quiet as it is. :( Where else am I gonna share my anxiety? lol.

35 days. Or, to be more specific, 35 days, 21 hours, and 16 minutes.

...

35 days!!! Yay!!!

Hey, I check at least once a day. Usually I checked more often, but now I'm getting really busy with my debate team... :D

I agree with chillaxin. Where has everyone gone??? :(

Most people are gone because these months are the time when clubs truely take off. For example, Key Club is about to have their Fall Rally soon. As for me, I have been busy with finishing up makeup work and really trying to make my club more exhilarating this year. Other than that, I hope all you enjoy your Veterans Weekend. Oh yeah, I also made an official countdown for all of us lol.

http://www.bleacheatingfreaks.com/makeacountdown/?id=232134

It isn't that great, but, if any of you want to make it, for procrastination purposes or whatever, go for it.

I've just been hecka busy. I'm starting a food drive at school, and it's crazy stressful. I always check in after school though lol.. or whenever I get back home (last night it was 9)

choboking; i love the countdown!

What style of Debate do you practice Pyeela / how long have you been debating?

Haha that countdown is awesome!

I'm seriously thinking of making that countdown my homepage.. hahaha.

I've actually always been interested in debate. The specific class that I'm taking this semester is called We the People. It's a constitutional "debate" class. We have six units and discuss separate topics. The one I'm in discusses philosophers and political theory. It's a mock Congressional testimony.

I've been interested in debate for a while, but our school doesn't have a formal debate team or anything. I took debate freshman year for a semester, but that's about it. I'm glad I have this opportunity because it definitely tests my speaking & memorization skills, poise, and stress-handling capabilties.

But it's fun. I love it. I'm getting along great with my unit members (I just got back from our meeting -- 5 people in our unit). These are people I would never spend time with, so it's definitely a new experience. :D And it's a great program to learn about and really delve into politics.

Anyways, that's my shmeal. I love the countdown too Chobokin!!! <3 I have one in my organizer...which I never check...Aaah...so nervous.

Are any of you also being bombarded by schools w/ full rides & stuff? My dad's loving all of that. Hey! Think about Texas A&M, try this one, how about this one? ugh...

International student, free ride  , that'll be the day! :)

lol wow pyleela thats awesome! congratulations. at least you have some type of backup right? lol. pyleela have you thought about JSA? there is a summer conference every year. it costs money though, but if you are interested, it might be worth it.

Oops...Choboking, I typo-ed your name in my last post. XD Sorry!

:D Yes, JSA has sent me applications three times now, but usually I've been working/interning/volunteering/visiting India during my summers. Also, my parents thought it was a money-making scam of sorts. I get lots of spam e-mails, so their fears aren't unfounded. And since my major will be some science (maybe a minor in arts subject), I figured that researching would show more sincerety and "passion" than JSA, which isn't somthing I'm planning on venturing into. shrug

So much to do, so little time. I hate that I can't do everything I want. To get into a school like Stanford dream you have to show passion, and if your interests get too varied, it'll be hard to get admission. grr... JSA is definitely something I would have pursued, had I had a few more summers... :(

:D <-- I always like ending happy! :)

yes pyleela! I have gotten so many schools offering full tuition, etc. and Texas A & M U has been one and similarily, my dad was like you should look into that! Were you also a National Merit Semi-finalist?

Yup yup yup

Wait... do you get these if you're a NMSF? Cuz I don't really open most of my college mail.. I'll have to start..

same as julyinoh.. eventually I started just chucking them out, hahah.

Yup. You get extremely large packages from these universities.

yeah i got one from UTexas @ Dallas offering full tuition + 5,000 dollars annual spending money + 1,000 per quarter toward apartment housing
insane...

but all I really want is Stanford

i got one from the NSA offering me tuition at any college and a summer internship. anyone else get that one. i'm going to be a secret agent. :p

bumping this thread- slipping off the first page. :)
