As somebody that has a lot of time to waste, I've been scouring the UC Berkeley Catalog to figure out what to take in the Fall Semester as an incoming freshman. This is what I have come up with:

MATH 16A (Calculus for Non-Math and Science Majors) [3 Units]
ECONOMICS 1 [4 Units]
RHETORIC R1A (Or Equivalent R&C Course) [4 Units]
COMP SCI 3L [4 Units]

Current Berkeley Students Especially Please Feel Free to Comment and Criticize. I want to apply enter Haas and these all fulfill Haas requirements.

Thanks a million.

Math 16a is not bad, neither is economics. Rhetorics 1a sounds a little time consuming. Comp Sci classes are all super duper time consuming. I think you should replace either comp sci or rhetoric with an easier to class so you can see if you can deal with the workload. Its not that bad, but I've heard bad things about comp sci even though you're only taking an introductory course.

I plan to be a history major, got a 5 on my AP Stat exam, but did not take the Calc BC exam (though I took the class). Do I have to take Calculus ever ever again or can I just take more Stat?

(Asked because I seriously despise Calculus - math in general, but I do kinda like Stat.)

Depends on your major. You get credit for math 1a-1b if you got a 5 on the calc bc exam, math 1a if you got less.

So yes if you are majoring in stats :(

wait, no! i'm going to be a history major. i just would rather take stat to fulfill my quant. reasoning req. rather than calc. that is possible, isn't it? please tell me it is...

Oh, I'm not sure, but I think so, and even if you can't take stats there are tons of easy math classes you can take. There's no reason for you to touch calculus ever again if you don't want to. I thought you meant you were majoring in stats.

Rhetoric and computer science will be very time consuming.
