Just wondering if all Rice offices are closed this week. I really, really need to get in touch with someone to find out if I will have on-campus housing as a spring transfer student. (If i dont have it I dont want to go becasue I wont know anyone) So if anyone know how or if I can contact someone over the break it would be helpful.
It just seems strange that all the offices have shut down for a week and a half.

I was able to find the hours and days the admissions office will be open here, http://www.futureowls.rice.edu/futureowls/Location_and_Hours.asp?

I think they will still assign you to a residential college, even if there's no dorm room available, so you will feel a part of the school.

true...

where are you transferring from?

I am transfering from my home town school of lubbock, TX at Texas Tech University. I am confused becasue I saw a schedule that said everyone was off for the week for winter break. But, thanks for the link. I really want to feel like a part of the school becasue I have lived with my parents to save money for the first part of college. I think the dorms would, really, really, help this.

Hmm, housing is very iffy at Rice. Everyone'll get assigned to a residential college so you will definitely feel a part of a smaller community of the whole school. As for housing, you may be able to find space if someone's doing a semester abroad or something. But as it is, housing is short at Rice, so I don't know. You should get in touch with admissions instead of going on anything I say, though.
