Hi, i was having some scheduling issues and I was wondering if any current/former students had some advice.

Two of my classes are only 15 minutes apart. Google maps said its an 10 min walk and around a 6 minute bike ride in between the buildings. Should I risk it? Does anyone have any similar experience? The classes are in Carothers and the King Life Sciences building if that helps.

How many hours would you suggest working a week?

Is there a way to keep a bike on campus even if you live off campus? like keeping it at bike racks near the parking garage i'll use.

Does anyone know how I find out how my DE courses transfer?

Is it possible to take Spanish AFTER I'm admitted to the Biology majors program?

You should be able to make it. You might be close on time though, depending on which way you go and if you have to wait for traffic to cross the street. It’ll also depend on where in each building your class is. If you’re going from the top floor in one building to the top floor in the other, you’re not going to make it on time more than likely.
Unless you absolutely have to have those classes, in those specific locations, at those specific times, I’d probably switch. Especially if either of them are lab courses.

However many you think you can work and not have it impact your classes. Personally I don’t think anyone should work their first semester unless it’s absolutely crucial, because the first semester can be a huge change from normal and you’ll need time to adjust.
You won’t want (and odds are good you won’t get one anyway) a 40 hour per week job, especially on campus. It’s really a call you’ll have to make.

You mean like store it on campus in a parking garage and then just pick it up when you get on campus? Unless you’re living that far from campus, why not just ride your bike to campus?
Don’t plan on using just one parking garage, either. Parking on campus sucks primarily because there’s about 37,000 people trying to get a parking spot when a hell of a lot less than that exist. There will be a time where you’ll have to go to a different garage than you want. Probably in the first week.
There are bike racks around campus, and there’s really no rule that says that you can’t just chain your bike up to one and get it when you want it. But there are a lot of people that use them, and not that many bike racks (it’s a lot like parking, except with bikes and not 4000 pound cars). You’ll be lucky to be able to use the same bike rack on any form of a regular basis.

If FSU has your transcripts from the college, it should show up on myFSU under your unofficial transcript. It should be an option once you login (if you can), by clicking on the “Course Quicklinks” link in the “My Courses” box.
Aside from that, you can always contact FSU Admissions or your specific department and advisor and ask. They should know.

Thank you!
I did change my schedule so that I will only be walking to the psychology building, which is a bit closer. I don’t think i’ll ever need a bike this way.

You’ll probably be best off without a bike, especially if you have a car or you aren’t traveling that far between classes. What I think a lot of people don’t realize about bikes on campus is that you’re still subject to the flow of everyone that’s walking, and the paths where bikes are able to travel uninhibited (those without stairs) are also the ones where the majority of people are walking anyway.

While there’s some cases where a bike is beneficial, if you’re walking down the main walkway in the center of campus, you’ll probably just get annoyed by how people are walking- and you’ll probably annoy your fair share of people that have to avoid you on your bike. Not that bikes are all bad. It’s just that the main walkways on campus are packed with people during the days, and you’ll probably be better off walking than trying to get around people.

One more question. I sent my college transcript (dual enrollment) in when I applied and I sent my final one in around a month ago, yet no transfer credit has shown ip in MyFSU. Is it normal for it to take this long or should I call them just to make sure everything’s okay?

It can take a while for that to show up. You may not see that in myFSU for a while. It should be sooner than later but right now I know Admissions is probably flooded with inputting AP/IB test credit from scores they were sent, so you might have to wait a few weeks.

You can always call them and make sure that it isn’t just a mistake. Always good to be proactive with FSU, especially since they aren’t exactly mistake-free.
