I am a new transfer student, transferring in as a Junior this fall. I was wondering if I am taking too many credits this semester. I am transferring from a four year university and plan on being a History Major with an Anthropology Minor. The classes I signed up for are:
Intro to Cultural Anthropology - 4 credits - 100 level
Society and Culture in Japan - 3 credits - 400 level
History of the Holocaust - 3 credits - 200 level
History of Political Corruption and Reform in America- 3 Credits - 300 level
War: A Critical Perspective - 3 Credits - 200 level
Transfer Students Seminar - 1 Credit
(17 credits total)

17 credits is a lot, but definitely doable. 12 is minimum, 19-21 is max.

Go to classes the first week and get a feel for your instructors/read the syllabus, talk to people. Then you may decide that your schedule is ok, or that you want to drop a class. I think a lot of it depends on how much work your instructor requires. That can vary between instructors, for the same class. So go first and find out.
