Scheduling Comments

So I am about to start my ME classes, but I am off of the planned schedule. I know I need to take 211, and I should take 240. If I even want to consider graduating early or doing co-op I need to take 250 as well. So would:

ME 211
ME 240
ME 250
plus an advanced math class

be too hard of a schedule? That'll come out to 15 credits, which isn't really that much, but it there aren't any push over classes in the group.

Any suggestions? And, if applicable, do you know a good math course to take?

Thanks for any comments. I'll go to the ME advisor again soon but the dude isn't that heplful. (I say dude cuz he's a "peer" advisor)

I think that is reasonable.

There’s a difference between a good math class and an easy math class.
As an engineer, I’d take one of the following ‘good’ math classes:
Numerical Methods
Math for Engineers
Fourier Analysis if you’re interested in an electromechanics

I don’t recall the numbers.

Fourier? That’s more Diffy Qs right?.. I think I got my fill from 286, and I’m still in it

the peer advisor wasn’t helpful i agreed. He wouldn’t let me take all 4 ME classes at the same time lol, so i ignored his advice anyway and took all 4 and did fine.
250 with john hart(i think hes teaching this coming fall) is a really fun class, but its very difficult.
It’s going to be fairly difficult, but manageable.
Let me know if you wanna know more details about the classes etc

Sure, I’d love more info. What 4 did you take and who did you have? I won’t take 4 ME courses though. I’ll make one something else (probably math)

i took
ME 211
ME 235
ME 240
ME 250

211 try to get james barber, hes by far the best professor i’ve had. No dirty tricks on exams, very very straight forward yet somehow class avg still end up in 60%±.
235 usually has pretty good profs, mine was taught by claus borgnakke, whos a very good prof, but exam can be slightly unfair.
240 david dowling, exams are pretty hard, but it’s all relative cuz the avg is curved to a B-. I dont think he’ll be teaching next fall, but richard scott(who i heard is pretty awful, but has easy exams) always teaches 240.
250 you don’t really get to pick if you’re taking it in fall. John hart’s design project is ridiculously demanding but rewarding if your robot works(my ME350 project is very simple compared to 250), the winter term 250 project is easier but more lame of course. ME250 is my hardest class so far.
