Scheduling Dilemma Please Help

Hi, so today I got the sad news that I will have to drop either Calc BC or Macroeconomics. :(
I really want them both because I'm majoring in Economics. But I have no idea what to choose. Please give me some insights on which to choose. Are there maybe college courses I can take to replace one of them?? Will it look bad if I drop a math course?

How many APs are you taking this year? If not many, and you have a solid mathematical foundation, I would suggest you take AP Calc BC. Also, typical colleges treat AP Calc BC as two semester course, meaning you have to take both Calc I and II to get the credits worth as much as AP Calc BC.

I’m taking 3 (Bio, Lit, Calc BC?) because of scheduling conflicts , but self studying others now (Stat, Micro, Music, Macro?). Last year I took 3 AP exams.
My schedule is full of electives now because of this scheduling conflict and stupid layoffs -.-
So I should take Macro at a community college?? By the way I know this is a stupid question, but I’ve never taken a comm. college course, so how do i sign up for it?

^well, kudos to you for self-studying four AP tests. It’s quite of a feat. Anyway, I think you should take AP Calc BC since it is generally considered more rigorous than AP Macroeconomics. As for the community college course, I advise you to register through your school’s guidance counselor.

Edit: I personally believe it would be an overkill for you to take Macroeconomics at CC. But the choice is ultimately up to you.

I would’ve only had to self study 2 if if weren’t for this conflict. sigh sorry, I’m just kinda ****ed.
Why is it overkill to take Macro at cc? Is it really hard? o.o

Well, AP Bio + AP Lit + AP Calc BC + AP Stat(self-study) + AP Music Theory (self-study) + other school electives that might annoy you + ECs + college apps? On top of that, Macro at CC? I don’t know. You may be a badass mother****er and just get 5s on all of them. If you think you can handle them, go for it.

PS It’s not really that Macro is hard, but it will put more burdens on your shoulder.

Hm…That’s true. The electives though are jokes. College apps I’m starting now, well…essays anyway. :stuck_out_tongue: I’m not too worried about Music because I’ve taken something like it before. The others I do worry about, and Track and Field of course. Maybe I’ll drop Stat? But I heard it was easy o.o

If you have to drop one, you should drop stats and pick up Macro since you’re intending to major in Econ at college.

Oh, is it possible to take Calc AB at school while taking Calc II at a cc??

Most likely, no. Most colleges require Calculus I as a prerequisite to Calc II. Thus, you can’t take Calc II while taking AP Calc AB, which is technically Calc I.

^^ by the way, I can consult you with this matter more closely through facebook, if you wish.

Lol it’s okay. I think I worked everything out now. Thanks so much for your help! :)

De nada se
